Refund & Consumer Rights
Last updated 25 May 2026
The personalised grant report is digital content delivered to you immediately. This page explains your cancellation rights and how to ask for a refund.
Your 14-day cancellation right (and the digital-content exception)
Under EU/Irish distance-selling law (the Consumer Rights Act 2022), you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content delivered immediately, this right does not apply once delivery has begun — but only if you have given your prior express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you lose the cancellation right.
Because your report is generated and made available to you straight after payment, by completing your purchase you:
- ask us to supply the report immediately, and
- acknowledge that you therefore lose your 14-day right to cancel once the report has been generated and made available to you.
If something goes wrong — our promise
Your statutory rights are unaffected, and we want you to be happy. We will fix the problem or refund you if:
- your report failed to generate or you were charged but did not receive it;
- the report contains a clear factual error in your grant figures or eligibility; or
- you were charged in error or more than once.
Because the report is an estimate-based guide, we cannot refund simply because a grant you hoped for did not apply to your home, or because SEAI/your local authority later declines an application — but please still contact us and we will help.
How to request a refund
Email info@homegrants.ie within 30 days of purchase with your order reference (shown on your confirmation) and a short description of the issue. We aim to respond within 3 working days. Approved refunds are made to your original payment method, normally within 5–10 days.
Who we are
HomeGrants.ie is an independent home-grants guide based in Ireland. We are not SEAI or a government body.
You can also find information on your consumer rights at the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie).
