These terms apply when you use HomeGrants.ie to check your grants or to request quotes from contractors. By using the site you agree to them.

Who we are

HomeGrants.ie is an independent home-grants information and contractor-matching service based in Ireland. Contact: info@homegrants.ie.

What we provide

HomeGrants.ie is an independent service. We are not SEAI, the Government of Ireland, a local authority, or any grant body, and we are not affiliated with them. We do two things:

• a free grant check that brings together publicly available scheme information and your answers to show which Irish home-energy grants may be open to a home like yours, with indicative amounts and an estimate of what the work would leave you paying; and
• a free introduction service that passes your request to contractors on the public SEAI registers who cover your county for the upgrades you asked about.

The grant check is built from the answers you give and published data for homes in your area. It is not a check of your specific home or Eircode — we do not verify your individual eligibility, and no one can confirm your eligibility on your behalf. You confirm your own eligibility directly with SEAI, using your home’s MPRN.

Estimates, not guarantees

• All grant amounts, cost estimates, eligibility statements and figures are estimates based on current published scheme rates, typical market costs and the answers you provide. They are not an offer of funding, not a quote, and not a guarantee that any grant will be approved.
• Costs shown are indicative and before survey. Only a contractor who has inspected your home can give you a real price.
• Grant rules and amounts change. You must confirm current rules and your eligibility with the official scheme (e.g. SEAI) and your local authority before relying on any amount or starting any work.
• Whether a grant is paid is decided solely by SEAI / the relevant authority, not by us.

Cost to you, and how we are paid

• The grant check and the contractor introduction are free to homeowners. We do not ask you for payment at any point.
• We are paid by contractors, who buy the introduction. That is how the service is funded, and it does not change which grants you are shown or the figures attached to them.

Requesting quotes

• When you submit a request you are asking us to pass your name, contact details, Eircode and the details of the work to contractors so they can contact you. Exactly what is shared is set out in our Privacy notice.
• We pass your request to an SEAI-registered contractor covering your county for the upgrades you selected. We do not sell your details to anyone else, and we do not pass them to contractors outside that match.
• You are under no obligation to accept a quote, arrange a survey, or proceed with any work.
• You can ask us to stop at any time by replying to any email from us or writing to info@homegrants.ie. We will remove your details, though we cannot recall a request already passed to a contractor — you can ask that contractor directly to erase your details.

About the contractors

• We check that a contractor appears on the relevant public SEAI register for the work and covers your county. We do not employ, supervise, vet, endorse or guarantee them, and appearing on an SEAI register is not an endorsement by SEAI either.
• Any contract for work is between you and the contractor. We are not a party to it. Pricing, workmanship, timescales, warranties, insurance and grant paperwork are matters between you and them.
• Get more than one quote, get it in writing, and check the contractor is registered for the specific measure before work starts. Grant approval must normally be in place before any work begins, or the grant can be refused.

Your responsibilities

• Give accurate answers and accurate contact details — the match, and what a contractor is told before they ring, depend on them.
• Only submit a request for a property you own or are authorised to act for.
• Do not misuse the site (for example automated scraping, submitting false requests, or interfering with the service).

Intellectual property

The site, its text, data compilations and designs are owned by us or our licensors.

Liability

We provide this service with reasonable care, but to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for decisions you make based on the information shown, for grant applications that are refused, for the acts or omissions of any contractor, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. This does not deprive you of any protection of mandatory consumer law in your place of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published here when you use the service. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
