Grants pay part of the bill. You pay the rest. Have you got your part ready?

You pay the contractor first. SEAI sends you the grant money afterwards, once the job is done and checked.

Can a contractor call out to measure up?

Nobody can give you a real price without seeing the job first.

2026 SEAI windows & doors grant

For years windows and doors were only supported inside deep-retrofit schemes. Since 2 March 2026 there’s a dedicated individual grant — this is the first year you can claim it on its own.

SEAI windows & doors grant — 2026 rates
Windows — detached€4,000
Windows — semi-detached / end-terrace€3,000
Windows — mid-terrace€1,800
Windows — apartment€1,500
External doors (each, max 2)€800
The home must be built before 2011 and SEAI requires good attic and wall insulation in place before this measure qualifies. Confirm current rules on SEAI.ie.
