Our editorial policy

• Official sources first. Every grant amount, rule and date comes from the official page, and we link to it.
• Say only what is true. No “guaranteed”, no “free” unless it is, and no promise of a contractor where we don’t have one.
• Plain English. We explain the rules the way you would explain them to a neighbour, including the ones that catch people out.
• Honest about costs. SEAI grants usually cover part of the work. We show typical costs so nobody is surprised by the balance.
• Dated and reviewed. Each guide shows when it was last checked against its sources.

HomeGrants.ie is independent of SEAI, local authorities and lenders. Contractors in our partner network pay for enquiries they accept, but they don’t pay to appear in our guides and have no say in what the guides say. A register listing on our county pages is a count of who is registered, not a recommendation.

If you spot an error, email info@homegrants.ie with the page and, if you can, the official source. We check it against the source and correct the guide, and the updated date changes when we do.
